"The Election" is a fictitious book that gives you a picture of an African Election set-up. The protagonist is not a politician but can be described as a passport to a successful election campaign. Kwikili plays the game of politics for financial gain. The book exposes the schemes of an election starting from the campaign to the aftermath.

"The Election" clearly shows the characteristic of a post-election era. It clearly shows that, there is dismay and disarray. People have a mental breakdown from the ills of the world around them. They are thirsty for economic independence. They are thirsty for a new wind of change. They are nostalgic and lamenting over the decision they made by putting those currently serving. They promised them Heaven on Earth but all they have are disillusionment.

The book is an excellent piece of art as it gives you an in depth sip of the voters and electorate`s plan. It mirrors of what really pulls people to a certain party. Elections are a freedom to choose who represents you well. It’s a pillar of a democratic society that we have not taken seriously as Africans. We note that, the candidate that sells oneself well is the one that carries the day but when we look at how elections are conducted in Africa, entertainment is a crowd puller and a good campaign manager is a plus to winning an election. This book helps us to see who and how we should select leaders.
